Founded in Chennai

Rabindra Kumar Pandey and Priya Pandey opened Caring Vision Therapy & Neuro-Vision Rehabilitation Centre in Ashok Nagar, Chennai - one of the first dedicated vision therapy clinics in South India, where functional vision assessment was an unmet need.

First Clinical Training Batch Launched

The first formal post-graduate training programme for optometrists began, accepting candidates from across India. The curriculum combined intensive didactic sessions with supervised real-patient care from week one - the same model that defines the Academy today.

COVD Board Certified International Centre

The centre achieved full recognition as a COVD / OVDRA Board Certified Centre - becoming the only internationally accredited vision therapy facility in South India, setting a benchmark that underpins all Academy training today.

COVD / OVDRA Fellowship Achieved

Our lead clinician earned board fellowship from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) and the Optometric Vision Development & Rehabilitation Association (OVDRA) - bringing the highest internationally recognised neuro-optometric standards to clinical practice and teaching in India.

FCSO - Fellow of the College of Syntonic Optometry

Our lead clinician was conferred Fellow of the College of Syntonic Optometry (FCSO), recognising advanced expertise in syntonic phototherapy and light-based neuro-visual rehabilitation - a specialty now integrated into Academy training modules.

FAAO - Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry

Elected as Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), one of optometry's most prestigious international recognitions - affirming a sustained commitment to clinical excellence and evidence-based practice that sets the standard for every Academy programme.

Visual Snow Initiative Certification

Awarded certification by the Visual Snow Initiative - establishing the clinic and Academy as a recognised centre for the assessment and management of Visual Snow Syndrome and related perceptual disorders, a rapidly growing clinical speciality taught in the Fellowship programme.

Caring Vision Academy - Formally Launched

With over 20 certified graduates now practising across India - in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and beyond - the training arm was formally established as Caring Vision Therapy Academy, offering structured Residency, Fellowship, and Observership programmes open to optometrists nationwide.
